I guess the rain was good after all. It allowed me to get this amazing shot at today’s photo shoot. This was shot with a Nikon D300 and a 17-55 2.8 @ 5.6, Alien Bee – 800 as my main light camera right and an SB-800 for the backdrop.

March 14, 2009When I finally have some time to do some portrait photography and model shoots, the rain starts to come down. I have a couple of shoots for this weekend and it seems like we will be getting rain all weekend. So now I have to go to the studio. >:(

Norfolk, Virginia photo shoot
So here it is like I promised. I went to Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA for a photo shoot I had in my agenda.
Originally, I was hoping for sunny skies and a warm day. However, that wasn’t the case. (I know you saw that one coming after that sentence.)
So it was cloudy and cold, I forgot my jacket and I forgot a tripod for one of the SB-800′s so I had to improvise. After about 30 minutes playing with the flashes I decided to go with the natural light since it was overcast. The results were amazing. I used a long tele for the shots and shot it wide open @ 2.8.
It was a nice location and I was done pretty quick. There’s more to come so stay tuned.
What a wonderful weekend…
March 9, 2009Until tomorrow….. It’s been a wonderful weekend with even better temperatures. But I guess everything is going back to “normal” tomorrow as temperatures start getting cooler or should I say colder? Seems like everything’s going against me and my wonderful job as a photographer since I have a couple of shoots outside this week. I guess I’ll have to deal with what I got.
