Well I’m back from FL and already had an event in Portsmouth, VA. This was a small event for Eklektic @ Amore Casual Italian in the Hampton Roads area.

March 31, 2009Spring is here and so is wedding season
March 21, 2009Spring is finally here and so are weddings along with allergies as well (at least most of my e-sessions start around this time). And as the big boy games begin, I need to start packing for a trip to Orlando. This is a win win situation because not only am I shooting a wedding, but the fam is tagging along to spend a couple of days in Disney World.
Stand by for more updates when I get back. I have a couple of bridal shoots and engagement sessions for April here in Virginia Beach.
Often times being a wedding photographer is a tad stressful, but who’s going to complain about trips like this?

Group shot, anybody?
March 21, 2009I have to admit this is one of my fears. Large group shots with little available light.
Belgium photographer Bert Stephani was able to pull this off flawlessly and it wasn’t your average group shot either. This conference room was filled with 800 people and the best part is this; He only used two flashes. TWO!
I’ll just shut up and you can just watch this amazing video.

March 14, 2009When I finally have some time to do some portrait photography and model shoots, the rain starts to come down. I have a couple of shoots for this weekend and it seems like we will be getting rain all weekend. So now I have to go to the studio. >:(

Norfolk, Virginia photo shoot
So here it is like I promised. I went to Harbor Park in Norfolk, VA for a photo shoot I had in my agenda.
Originally, I was hoping for sunny skies and a warm day. However, that wasn’t the case. (I know you saw that one coming after that sentence.)
So it was cloudy and cold, I forgot my jacket and I forgot a tripod for one of the SB-800′s so I had to improvise. After about 30 minutes playing with the flashes I decided to go with the natural light since it was overcast. The results were amazing. I used a long tele for the shots and shot it wide open @ 2.8.
It was a nice location and I was done pretty quick. There’s more to come so stay tuned.
